Project Research & International Coordinator

FemPeaceEA: We are currently seeking an African feminist freelance expert to join the East African Feminist Peace Network Project as a Project Research and International Coordinator in a part-time position based in Berlin. The project aims to strengthen grassroots feminist organizations in East Africa (Ethiopia, Kenya, and Uganda) through capacity and network building to enhance women’s full and meaningful participation in conflict prevention and peacebuilding processes. The project is implemented in Kenya, Uganda, and Ethiopia and is funded by the Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development. 

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct research to support the overall project objectives and the work of partner feminist organizations.
• Develop feedback and recommendations for mentors and project teams regarding the media-related components of project media activity reports. 
• Support in the preparation and development of the Interim and Final project reports, ensuring alignment with the project impact matrix and funder standards.
• Contribute to the design, development, and publication of project-related curricula and toolkits, in collaboration with project team members and partners. 

Qualifications and Experience

• At least a Bachelor’s degree in Feminist Studies, Gender Studies, Media, Social Sciences, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Familiarity with East African grassroots feminist organization work, experience working with or supporting feminist organizations.
• Demonstrate experience in research and report writing, preferably within the African feminist, media development sectors.
• Experience supporting the development of training materials, curriculum, or toolkits.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in online collaborative tools and/or relevant research and publication tools.
