the feminist café is all about providing an intersectional feminist* space, welcoming anyone who supports the full achievement of women's and girls' human rights on a global level.

Open Culture Feminist Café '#OCFC' is an intersectional feminist space initiated in May 2019 and has since developed into a recurring format in collaboration with various feminist* activists, movements and organizations to amplify feminist leadership.

RECLAIMING SELF - EXPRESSION
AFRICAN FEMINISM IN DIGITAL SPACE

This short video is an excerpt from the 2nd feminist café event, a conversation with Rosebell Kagumire, a pan-African feminist writer and socio-political analyst moderated by Egyptian artist and scholar Heba Y. Amin on the topic of pan-African feminist mobilization in the Internet age. They discuss how access to the Internet has connected young African women in new ways, enabling them to build further on previous resistance work of many African women to dismantle patriarchy and organise pushback, whether it concerns local political authorities, religious beliefs or foreign narratives.
