#MMAct – Migrant Media Action Project – Seeking (4) Regional Coordinators in GHANA

#MMAct in Ghana aims to promote safe migration, freedom of expression, and access to reliable migration information by strengthening cooperation and engagement between media organisations and communities. The project seeks to enhance migration competence and reporting skills among journalists and community actors to foster informed public discussion and counter misinformation and stigma related to migration. Through targeted training, advocacy, and dialogue, #MMAct supports media professionals to deliver accurate and balanced coverage of migration issues and encourages community awareness and positive alternatives for people.
The project in Ghana is a collaboration between the r0g_agency for open culture and critical transformation gGmbH (Germany) and the Song-Ba Empowerment Centre (Ghana) with funded by the German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development.
Scope of Responsibilities
The Regional Coordinator oversees the regional implementation of all project activities, ensuring effective planning, coordination and delivery of interventions across assigned regions. This role ensures adherence to project standards and donor requirements, promotes strong collaboration with partners and community stakeholders, monitors progress towards targets and ensures timely reporting and resolution of implementation challenges.
Song-Ba Empowerment Centre is seeking 4 Regional Coordinators for the Northern, Volta, Bono and Central Regions to implement the Migrant Media Action – MMAct Project. The project aims to contribute to promoting safe migration opportunities, positive alternatives, freedom of expression and access to migration information between media organisations and communities in Ghana.
Key Responsibilities
- Organise agoras (meet ups) with the commiunities.
- Plan and organise radio programs
- Organise regional training workshops
- write and submit workshop report to the country cooridnator
- plan and conduct media training in consultation with the country coordinator
all actions will be supported by the Ghana country coordinator of the SongBa Empowerment Centre
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in project management, social sciences, media, communications, development studies, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of demonstrable experience managing projects, preferably in media development, migration, or community engagement sectors.
- Proven experience in organising workshops, trainings, and community outreach activities.
- Strong skills in monitoring, evaluation, and preparation of progress and financial reports.
- Prior experience working with media organisations, civil society, or international development projects is an added advantage.
- Excellent communication, coordination, and teamwork skills; fluency in English required, proficiency in local languages (Dagbani, Ewe, Fante, Twi) is an advantage.
- Proficiency in computer applications and project management tools.
